tree cholla cactus

This desert - tree cholla cactus, is gnarly, yet beautiful! It is painted alla prima, wet on wet. A dear friend of mine is a fierce, fearless mountain biker and has extended approval for me to explore her many cactus photos from her desert runs, with tree cholla cactus being the first painting in what might become a series. Thank you Kamala!
